Insurance vs. AmeriPlan

Saturday, May 22, 2010

How do the Dental Benefits work with Insurance?

Your AmeriPlan® card will work with most dental insurance plans in these money-saving ways:

1. Your cost for each procedure will be reduced, reducing your remaining co-pay. (Note: Your dental office will make necessary adjustments in your final co-pay, but by law your insurance company must be billed the same amount as other patients.)

2. Since your cost per procedure is reduced, your annual 'cap' (usually around $1000 - $1500 per year) stretches further, giving you more value for your premiums!

3. Many procedures aren't covered by insurance, such as cosmetic dentistry. With your AmeriPlan® benefits, you will receive discounts on ALL procedures!

"I needed a cap on one of my teeth. My dentist's regular price for a cap is almost $900, but for AmeriPlan® members he charges only $600. So they billed my insurance company and after adjusting for my AmeriPlan discount®, I was left with under $100 out of pocket. They took care of all the details for me, and just sent me a bill for what was left!" -- Kurt Wilkins

Note: In some cases, the AmeriPlan benefits will duplicate insurance benefits, so be aware that you won't receive the same duplicate benefits twice.

Surviving with one Income

Friday, May 14, 2010

Today many families are struggling to make ends meet. Due to massive layoffs and lack of available jobs these past few years, many people have to survive on a single income. Even in two parent families, sometimes the cost of childcare can be more than a parent’s income. While this is always difficult, there are things you can do to get by.

1) Start by cutting back on any extra expenses that you can. Evaluate all your monthly bills and see what can be cut out, or cut down. Make your home as energy efficient as possible to save on utility bills. Cut out all unnecessary expenses. Evaluate your grocery bill and see where you can make cuts there. Use coupons as often as you can to save on things you need to buy. Buy a Sunday paper if you can, or ask a friend for the coupons out of their paper.

2) Avoid using credit cards except in emergencies. This will only create more debt, and add to your monthly bills. If you bury yourself in more debt it will only get harder to get back on your feet. If you are already in credit card debt cancel your cards except for maybe one for emergencies.

3) Save on gas for your car by walking or bike riding to wherever you can, this will also get you some great exercise. If walking or bike riding is not an option for you, try to combine your trips to various places. Instead of driving back forth, plan your route. Use a route that is the most direct to get to everywhere you need to go.

4) Shop at yard sales, thrift stores, dollar stores, and swap meets when you can find what you need. Don’t be embarrassed to go to a thrift store, sometimes you may find something for a few dollars that you can re-sell for more.

5) Lastly, you can supplement your income by working in either direct sales, or online writing. Just be very cautious when doing this, do thorough research on any company before signing up, or providing any personal information. Any company that tells you to pay money for their “system” or “secrets” is probably a scam. Another way to supplement your income is to sell your old stuff on E-Bay or Craigslist. Go through your garage and see what you can get rid of. Doing this will accomplish two things: 1) you can make money off the stuff you sell and 2) your garage gets cleaned.

Stay close to your friends and family, they will be your support through this difficult time.

Grocery shopping on a budget

Thursday, May 13, 2010

Ever wonder how you're going to have money to put food on the table? In this economy today most of us are feeling a financial crunch. In times like these we need to tighten the belt, and give up the non-essentials. However, groceries are essential. For larger families this is even more difficult. Many families are surviving on one income. A lot of us have to learn how to be a frugal grocery shopper. The good news is that there are things that you can do to save on your grocery bill. If you make a few changes to your normal grocery routine it can make a good impact, allowing you to use that "extra" money towards another essential. You should minimize the number of trips to the store by going at least every two weeks, monthly trips would be even better.

First start by inventorying what you have in your kitchen, and plan your meals around that. Plan out a menu around what you have that will cover until your next planned grocery trip. Make sure that your menu includes three meals, one snack, and drinks. Desserts are not really a necessity, but you can include those as well if your budget allows.

Now, using your menu and kitchen inventory, write a list of what you still need for the meals that you have planned. Add any basic household staples that you know you will need. Good staples for a limited budget are: Flour; Milk; Beans; Rice; and Pastas

Plan your budget, know how much you can spend, and have your list. Next you will need to gather grocery circulars for the stores in your area, you can also look at circulars on-line, and a good resource for this is: HTTP://www.grocio.com/news.html. Look through the circulars to find where the best deals will be. Cut out coupons that are for items you buy on a regular basis. Do not buy items simply because they are on sale.

Prepare to go shopping. Be sure to eat before going, when you are hungry you will tend to buy more. Take with you your list, your coupons/circulars, a pen and paper, and a calculator. Write down the price of everything that goes into your cart. Before going to check out total it all up, and figure in all applicable sales tax. Make sure that you avoid impulse buys, if it's not on the list, it shouldn't go in the cart.

When you get home, put everything away right away. Freeze anything that will not be used right away. You can freeze meat and cheese just cut into a size for one meal. Bread can be easily frozen. Freeze milk buy pouring (or drinking) some of it first. Milk expands, and can pop open the container if you put the full container in. Also with milk make sure it thaws completely before drinking, milk thaws unevenly and will taste funny if not thawed completely. Smaller paper milk containers freeze better, but you can still freeze the larger plastic ones.

Creating Wealth with Affiliate Programs: Getting Rich with No Money Down

Monday, January 18, 2010

By: Sean Gum

The question I am asked the most is, "How can I create additional income streams if I don't have any money to get started?" This article is going to teach you exactly that - how to create additional income streams using the Internet - without requiring any money to get started...

If you search for Work-at-Home or Make Money Online, you will have literally millions of websites to visit that promise you the next best way to get rich... for a fee...

You can spend hundreds of dollars researching all of the business opportunities on the Internet. But more times than not, the money you spend only supplies information on everything else you need to buy to get started.

Well have no fear! I am going to show you some of the secrets I use to creating income streams with no money down!

I realize that a lot of you are living paycheck to paycheck. Everything coming in, quickly goes right back out. My intention of writing this article is to help you break out of this cycle with Affiliate Programs.

What are Affiliate Programs?

Affiliate Programs are used to promote a product or service through a cost-per-action advertising model. Simply put, website owners will pay you a commission for every person you send to their website that either buys their product or service, or perform some other type of action such as filling out a survey...

Amazon.com built a huge following by utilizing Affiliate Programs. A website owner simply put a unique link on their website that Amazon.com provided them. Every time someone clicked on their unique link and ordered a book, the website owner would be paid a commission - usually a percentage of sales.

Banner ads or text ads are used to drive the traffic to the affiliate website. For example, one website might say "Click here to order Sean's Latest Book." When someone clicks on the link, it will go to exactly where they can order the book at Amazon.com.

High traffic websites benefit greatly by this business model since they can drive a lot of people to the affiliate websites which results in a lot of commissions being earned.

But what if I don't have a website?!

I know, you don't have a website, right? Or maybe you do, but you don't get a lot of traffic? I have good news...

BLOGS = FREE TRAFFIC

Over the last couple years, a new type of website has come onto the scene. They are called BLOGS. A blog is like a personal diary of articles that you post that people can read and comment on.

A couple examples:http://fortunedreams.blogspot.comhttp://ulosefast.blogspot.com

You can use a BLOG to drive visitors to affiliate links without having to have a website. If you look at the fortunedreams blog above, you will notice that at the end of every article is a link that says "Click here for FREE Information on Working at Home-FortuneDreams.com"

If you click on that link, it will go to an affiliate link which redirects you to a free survey to fill out.

For every person that completes that free survey, I get paid $2.25. Not too bad, eh?

So How Do I Do It?

Step 1: Open a free affiliate account. Go to www.magmoney.com and join the affiliate program there. This affiliate program will allow you to earn $2.25 for every free survey completed.

Step 2: Login to your affiliate account. At the top of the screen, you will see some TABS. Click on the tab that says "CREATE YOUR LINKS." Then click on the link that says "CLICK HERE To get banner and text link code to advertise our three different websites."

The first website listed will allow you to refer other people to join the MagMoney Affiliate Program. For every person that signs up through your link, you will get paid 75 cents for every person THEY get to complete a free survey. (You might not want to promote this one until later - when you have a friend that wants to do what you are doing... You can then get paid on their efforts!)

The second website listed will allow you to send traffic to a weight loss website. If you want to create a blog about weight loss, then you will want to use this for your affiliate link.

The third website listed will allow you to send traffic to a Work at Home website. If you want to create a blog about Working at Home, then you will want to use this for your affiliate link.

Step 3: Decide which website you want to promote from Step #2, and click on the CLICK HERE that is next to it to create your unique affiliate link.

Once you do that, you will get a list with your unique affiliate link along with about 10 banner ads. Disregard the banner ads since we will not be using them on the Blog.

Step 4: Write down the affiliate link that is listed under the heading "Basic Affiliate Url:".

If you are doing a weight loss blog, your link would look something like this:

www.mailorderwork.com/gl/g.o/USERNAME/http://www.ulosefast.com

(Except all on one line.)

Step 5: Go to Blogger.com and create a free Blog account.

Step 6: Go ahead and create your first blog, whether it is for Work at Home or Weight Loss.

Step 7: Post articles to your Blog with your affiliate link posted at the end of every article you post. (Refer back to http://fortunedreams.blogspot.com to get an idea of what to post.)

Do the same thing I did with the "Click here for FREE Information on Working at Home-FortuneDreams.com" But make sure you link it back to YOUR unique affiliate link that you wrote down from Step #4.

Where Do I Find Articles?

The easiest way would be to simply copy them from one of my blogs listed in the examples above. Or visit one of the free article websites such as www.SubmitYourArticle.com . There are literally thousands of articles for the taking. You will want to search for articles that fit the topic of the link you are promoting.

For example, if you are promoting the Work at Home link, you would want articles pertaining to Work at Home.

Step 8: Promote your Blog! There are hundreds of Blog Directories and RSS Directories that you can submit to that are free of charge. When you create a blog at www.Blogger.com, you also get a free RSS feed of your Blog. You simply add /atom.xml to the end of your Blog.

For example: The blog http://fortunedreams.blogspot.com/ would be http://fortunedreams.blogspot.com/atom.xml as an RSS feed.

This allows you to submit it to all the RSS and Blog Directories that you can find...

Step 9: VERY IMPORTANT: After EVERY article that you post to your blog, go to www.pingomatic.com and submit your blog. Click on ALL the Services to Ping and then submit pings.

This tells many of the popular Blog directories that you have a new article posted. The more articles you post, the higher your ranking (and the more traffic they will send you!)

So be sure to do this after every article you post.

Step 10: Post new articles on your Blog several times a day. Try to post at least a dozen or more new articles on a daily basis to achieve the best results.

So there you have it! A completely, absolutely free way to start generating income with the Internet from the comfort of your own home...

Of course you can repeat the process over and over again creating as many blogs as you want. You can also use this method with any of the hundreds of other affiliate programs on the Internet.

Utilizing this method, you should be able to build up an extra income from several hundred dollars a month to several thousand - depending on how hard you work at it.

Now that you are earning a little bit of pocket money, put $250 aside for a special opportunity to turn it into hundreds of thousands of dollars with the ultimate leverage!

I'll tell you all about it in my next article about my favorite Business Model - Network Marketing...

Good luck and God bless!

Frugal Living-Cutting Back Expenses

Monday, January 11, 2010

Today many of us have to tighten our belts just to survive. Many people may think cutting back expenses sounds easy, and it is. But, if you don’t cut back expenses properly it can cause you to fall behind on important bills. There are many ways to save on expenses, this just being one of them. Decide what is best for you and your situation.

The first thing you need to do is sit down with a pen and paper and figure your monthly budget based on your income. Total how much you pay for everything. Total amounts for mortgage/rent, gas, utilities, groceries, credit cards, cable, cell phones, and everything else that you spend money on.

Your expenses cannot exceed your income. Write down how much you can afford to spend on everything.

Next go through your list and mark what is absolutely essential: utilities, food, mortgage/rent, car payments and gas are essential if you commute to work. At this point we are not looking at extras like credit cards, cable, or cell phones.

Now go through the non-essentials like cable and see what you could take out or cut back on. Do you really need that premium cable package? Or the largest calling plan your wireless carrier has? Make a list of what you can get rid of.

Ok, now it’s time to look at changes in the essentials. This area is harder to cut back on, but there are changes that can be made. Look at things you can do to save on your utility bills, cut any non-essentials out of your grocery bill. Do you really need all that ice cream? Make a list of any changes to be made.

This is the time to go through and call companies for any changes, contact your cable and wireless providers ECT. Notify them of any necessary changes to your account. Cancel what you can, and cut back on what cannot be canceled.

Make your home as energy efficient as possible to cut back on utilities. Look at the resource section at the bottom for a link to an article about saving money on your grocery bill.

After doing these things for one month total your bills again and compare to see how much you are saving. A good idea is to take that money that you are saving every month and put it into a savings account for a rainy day.

Differences Between a Home Based Biz & Home Job

Do you understand the differences between a home based business, and a home job? Often time’s people get these two confused. There are several key differences. Being aware of these differences can help you decide which one is right for you. It is important to understand what you need from your work at home experience, in order to make the best decision.

Startup fees are the biggest difference. Startup fees are an especially big issue with lower income families. With a home based business you will usually have a startup fee to pay. This is the area where many scams occur. Investigate each home business thoroughly. Home jobs on the other hand usually do not have a startup fee. However, with these home jobs you may need to purchase equipment or pay for a background check. Be aware of any fees prior to applying/signing up for anything.

Rate of pay is another key difference. Home based businesses are usually commission based if you are an affiliate for another company, but depending on the business this is not always the case. Pay for home businesses is almost always based on the amount of work you do. Home jobs often have a set hourly wage. Sometimes these jobs will include bonuses. Typically the more consistent income is with a home job, but the potential to earn more is with a home business.

Flexibility is a big one for some people. Often time’s people choose to work at home just so they can have flexibility with their hours. Home businesses are typically more flexible. Since you are the boss, you can work when you want. Keep in mind, the more you work, the more you can make. Home jobs will usually have a set schedule, but some companies do try to allow some flexibility. Know what your availability is, and find something that can meet those needs.

Freelancing is a home business. You are selling your services as an independent contractor. Many places that you may freelance with will send you a 1099 at the end of the year. You are responsible for paying your own taxes with this. Direct sales are also considered a home business.

Tips: As stated, research any work at home offer. Even if they do not ask for money, they could damage your computer.

Always be aware of any future costs/fees. Some direct sales companies require a monthly auto ship of products.
